Finally here is the first build of my bullet hell, tarot game. Read my skills gap 1 blogs for information on the steps it took to get here. Part1 Part2 Part3
I had to add quite a few small things in order to upload this, but it is at a state where all 3 levels are playable.
Firstly I had to add a death screen:

It is really simple and just serves to make dying and retrying the level feel less awkward.
Then I designed a nicer title screen using random assets:

I reused this to make a "Thank's for playing" screen for when the player finishes all the available levels:

And last of all I created a volume setting:

By default the volume is set to zero as I have not added sound effects or level specific music. The option allows the player to listen to the placeholder music if they wish to.
After building this to my phone I screen recorded my gameplay and posted it on youtube, you can find it here:

In Conclusion...
Working on this skills gap has genuinely been alot of fun. Having to think about the themes of levels and how the player will interact with them has been an illuminating experience. I enjoyed writing these blog posts much more than I thought I would and having to read into tarot has sparked an interest for me.
I'm definitely happy about the work I got done, I feel like I acomplished my task and more! This game started as an independent project so I'll definitely carry on working on this. But now, after this experience, I'm much more confident on my ability to finish it and have a good grasp on the steps to get there.
I probably won't have time to work on this until the winter break, but I'll post a devlog with the progress I make here, when I do.
In the short term though, I'll be starting my second skills gap tomorrow!
